We are excited to share that TLPI director, Susan Cole, has been invited to the White House to lead two sessions related to policy reform at the Trauma-Informed Approaches in School:  Supporting Girls of Color and Rethinking Discipline convening.  This meeting is being offered by The White House Council on Women and Girls (CWG), the U.S. Department of Education (ED), the Georgetown Law Center on Poverty and Inequality (Center on Poverty), and The National Crittenton Foundation (TNCF).  Susan will be leading two afternoon breakout sessions on Policy Reform, where she will be discussing Massachusetts’ Safe and Supportive Schools Law as a way to set the conditions for whole school inclusive safe and supportive environments for all students, including those impacted by adverse experiences.  TLPI is thrilled for the opportunity to participate in the national dialogue on trauma sensitive schools.
